How to Put Together a Simple, Excellent Exercise Regime

The most important principle I hope to have stressed is that EXERCISE IS NECESSARY for good health. The kind of exercise you do is not quite as important as finding something you enjoy and sticking to it.

But some people (I’m one of them) like routine. Some people need structure — so I have layed out an excellent (but simple) exercise regime.

This App Is So Simple: Shop Organic, Scan Receipts, and Earn Money.

Metaphor_ Breath-10I never thought I would earn money shopping organic. In fact, I have shared before how I have cried over the cost of an organic cucumber. You can read more about that here.

But over the last few days I have actually earned $26 buying many of the organic products I already use (without coupons). Including:

And I have my dear daughter in law, Katrina, to thank (she has a food blog with some fun recipes you can check out here). I was recently visiting Katrina to help out with the grand kids for a week and she told me about the fun app Ibotta. If you are not using it, you are throwing money down the drain. Continue reading “This App Is So Simple: Shop Organic, Scan Receipts, and Earn Money.”

12 of the Greatest Metaphors in the Bible

Metaphor_ Breath-5Man does not create metaphors — he merely discovers them. And there may be millions of metaphors yet undiscovered in this vast universe in which we live. Many of the greatest metaphors, however, have been revealed through special revelation. I will share twelve. Be sure to click each link to learn more about the reality and the representation. Laurette Willis Creates PraiseMoves as The Christian Alternative to Yoga

“PraiseMoves is…the Christian alternative to yoga. And I’m always careful to let people know: it’s not Christian yoga. I call that an oxymoron or a contradiction in terms. It’s like someone saying they’re a Christian Buddhist or a Christian Hindu — there’s no such thing.” If you have not read why Willis says “Christian Yoga Is An Oxymoron,” you can do so now.

One of the Great Metaphors: The Blood of Life

Blood should have been the first item in this list of metaphors, for a person cannot live one minute without blood. It is the foundational building block for life. The Scripture agrees. Leviticus 17:11 says, “The life of the flesh is in the blood.” But once again we find that blood represents something greater than physical life.

"Yoga Is The Missionary Arm of Hinduism" Claims Expert, Laurette Willis

According to Laurette Willis, founder of PraiseMoves, “Yoga is the missionary arm of Hinduism and the New Age movement.”

And this is not her own opinion, but what Hindu practitioners have claimed since at least 1991. Swami Sivasiva Palani warns Christians, “A small army of yoga missionaries – hatha, raja, siddha and kundalini – beautifully trained in the last 10 years, is about to set upon the western world. They may not call themselves Hindu, but Hindus know where yoga came from and where it goes.”

One of the Great Metaphors: The Rest of Life

Metaphor_ Breath-3

This is the tenth in a series of the 12 greatest metaphors for life.

  1. The breath of life: a person can live three minutes without air.
  2. The shelter of life: in harsh climes a person can live 3 hours without shelter.
  3. The water of life:  a normal person can live three days without water.
  4. The bread of life: the average person can live about three weeks without food.
  5. The light of life: if the sun were to stop giving its light, global temperatures would drop, plants would die, trees would vanish, and all life would cease to exist.
  6. The tree of life:  trees provide life-giving nourishment, beauty, and shade.
  7. The true vine of life: grapes nourish the body and wine brings joy to the heart.
  8. The oil of life: the olive tree was once a primary source of oil for food and light.
  9. The spice of life: spice provides flavor for bland food, healing for sick bodies, and fragrance for perfumes.
  10. The rest of life: after three days of no sleep, the average person begins to hallucinate. Sleep is such a fundamental part of life that we just cannot live without it. We need downtime to regenerate, recuperate, and revitalize the human flesh God has given us. Even Jesus, very God, had to rest when He walked among us.

The Rest of Life.

When a baby is born, it needs 16-18 hours of sleep to grow and develop. As the child ages, the amount of sleep it needs diminishes, but the need for sleep never goes away completely.

Human beings must have regular intervals of rest. This is by God’s design. We are not eternal, nor self-rejuvenating. We are not the Energizer Bunny: we don’t keep going and going (without rest). Adults need around eight hours of sleep each night to thrive. In addition, we need one day of rest in seven. This is what God has designed from the beginning. It is a gift from God that refreshes and restores the body. Without this rest, we will not Continue reading “One of the Great Metaphors: The Rest of Life”
