41 Ways toGet ExerciseNaturallyandavoidthe Gym-4

This has been the hardest month for me on my #weightlossjourney.

I thought for sure I was going to be reporting a gain. But turns out it is not as bad as I thought. The line still slopes downward!

Lesson Learned.

There is one big lesson I learned this month. If I want to lose weight, I have to stick to the plan. Twice I veered away — but both times I was able to get on track.

Veered off Course.

The first veer happened when I stopped “tracking” what I was eating. Normally I keep a rough tally in my head throughout out the day of the calories I am consuming. This month I thought I had it all figured out by portion size and generalities. So I didn’t track. Then when the evenings came (which are my weakest times), I thought I had enough “room” in the diet budget to eat a bowl of popcorn or some chips. But I couldn’t be “sure” because I hadn’t been keeping that tally.

So when the scale failed to show the desired results, I knew that had to change. And I am tallying again.

The second veer happened when I was on vacation in Florida with my private chef (daughter-in-law). She is such a great cook, I just wanted to eat and eat and eat. It was not convenient to weigh myself — so I was not even tracking my weight. Thankfully, I remembered that I was going to have to report to my readers at Reformed Health. That’s when I got back into the correct frame of mind. Accountability has been such a big help for me on this journey.

Who are you accountable to? I tweet and blog my journey.

Here are a few of my tweets for July — the successes and the challenges.
