Progress Report on Weight Loss and Health for November

November Progress ReportI ordinarily share my weight loss journal the first of each new month, but I’m doing things a little different for November. And I am a little late in checking in.

Due to some health issues (which I have written about), I have stopped trying to lose weight. All my effort for counting calories left my body deficient in some important nutrients. I am still tracking my weight and calories, but it is NOT my focus. My focus is NUTRITION.

If you thought counting calories was daunting, try tracking nutrition. It is like a full time job. But I am having some great wins.

As you may remember, we recently moved to a new apartment due to extremely high electromagnetic fields (EMFs). I discovered the high EMFs after developing a lump in my breast and suffering a relentless case of insomnia. Evidence shows that EMFs can cause or exacerbate both conditions.

Our new apartment has much lower, safe readings. I expected that immediately upon moving I would see a significant reversal in my symptoms. Unfortunately that was not the case. Continue reading “Progress Report on Weight Loss and Health for November”

Huge Reason Organic Oranges Are Better than Conventional

Huge Reason Organic Oranges Are Better than ConventionalGrowing up in a small town, where the nearest big city was an hour drive, I learned several things about growing conventional oranges. On the commute to the “big city” we passed by thousands and thousands of orange trees, and I was able to observe some interesting practices.

Lessons Learned.

#1 I watched as the orange groves were sprayed with insecticides. I can still recall the unpleasant smell, and now realize that it was Continue reading “Huge Reason Organic Oranges Are Better than Conventional”

How to Legally Escape the Health Insurance Trap

The healthcare industry in many cases has become nothing more than a legal drug dispensary.

I would rather put my health in my own hands by applying the Biblical Principles of Wellness so I can be all that God has designed me to be. After all, He does claim to be the Lord, my Healer. I believe Him.

The Walk of Life: 24 Benefits of Walking

Have you ever considered why humans value the first steps of their children? When a child it born, the first thing he or she does is breathe the breath of life. Next the child needs nourishment to survive. Soon the child begins to crawl. However, if a child crawled its entire life — it would indicate that something was wrong with the child’s development.

Overlooking This Fundamental Health Principle Puts Millions At Risk

At Reformed Health — we teach the Biblical principles of wellness so people can better serve Christ in their calling. We’ve talked about water, exercise, food, air, circulation, and so much more — but never have we addressed health from this most fundamental perspective.

Does “The Bible Cure” Have The Pathway To Your Healing? A Book Review Part 5: Lacks Development

There is an overall lack of development of the biblical doctrine of health and healing in The Bible Cure. Dr. Cherry overly relies on mysticism, science, and man made ideas, rather than the Bible. Perhaps if he had titled the book something other than “The Bible Cure,” I would not have such a dissatisfied review. His book is not the Bible’s cure for anything (though there are tidbits of truth). The Bible has so much to say about health, and Dr. Cherry misses it.

Does "The Bible Cure" Have The Pathway to Your Healing? A Book Review Part 1: A Shaky Foundation

The goal of this review is to evaluate Dr. Cherry’s “revelation” in view of Scripture — to see if he has indeed discovered the Bible’s pathway to healing. At Reformed Health, we make a similar bold claim: The Bible has the answers for health and healing (physical, spiritual, and emotional). We also provide a step-by-step plan for healing. Have we come to the same conclusions about what the Bible says about health?

Transportation — a Primary Mode of Exercise in The Bible

The average healthy human can walk approximately 16-20 miles per day — and throughout history — this is exactly what mankind has done to get from destination to destination. Even in our own country, prior to WW2, people walked an average of two hours per day. It is no coincidence that God gave us two legs to keep us mobile. We have been created to move. Created to walk as part of our life.

Delighted by Living From The Garden

vegetable-basket-349667_1920Have you ever considered the variety of foods that grow from the earth’s bountiful garden — all the foods that God has given us to enjoy? My heart sings over an avocado — with its creamy goodness. And my tastebuds rejoice when I bite into the tangy yellow flesh of a mango. I am even delighted by the sweet sting of a jalapeño pepper on my tongue. Of course, I must not forget garlic, with its undeniable beauty on the palette. And  a basil leaf picked straight off the stem — what a refreshingly pungent herb that adds life to many dishes. And let us also remember the queen of all the fragrant edibles: Continue reading “Delighted by Living From The Garden”
