October Weight Loss Journal

October Weight Loss Journal: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

This month has been the first month that I have not finished lower than I started. On October 1st, I weighed in at 149 and on October 31st, I weighed in at 149.8. There were some 147’s in the mix as well as one 152.

But I am not discouraged, nor have I stopped trying to take off the last five pounds of my weight. So today I am going to share the good, the bad, and the ugly about this month in weight loss.

The Top Two Reasons You Want to Lose Weight (Survey Results)

Thank You Card

Thank You!

I recently shared a request for feedback concerning my upcoming weight loss and diet book. You can read the post here: Will You Please Help Me Out With A Short Survey?

I am so grateful and amazed by all the thoughtful responses I received. It has helped me out so much. I know now that I must add several chapters to address all the information that is important to my readers. If you have not had a chance to share what is important to you, the survey is still open. I welcome as many responses as possible. Take Survey Now!

The one thing that surprised me the most (though I don’t know why) was the number one reason my readers (and those who responded) want to lose weight.

I was sure the top motivator for weight loss was to feel more attractive. I couldn’t have been more wrong (though it did rank #3).

I was also surprised by the number two reason you all are motivated to lose weight.

Weight Loss Motivators.

There were 7 possible answers for the question: “What are your primary motivators to lose weight (check all that apply)?” Here is how YOU ranked them.  Continue reading “The Top Two Reasons You Want to Lose Weight (Survey Results)”

Would You Please Help Me with A Short Survey?

Will You Please Help Me Out with a Short Survey?

Would You Please Help Me with A Short Survey?Hello,

I am so excited about my weight loss progress. I have almost reached my goal of 145 pounds. And I haven’t seen those numbers in about 15 years.

Everyone is noticing the difference and asking me what I have been doing. But more importantly — I notice the difference. I can fit into my favorite clothes again. I feel more attractive. And I have more energy. And I am excited to share the exact process that I have used to lose weight consistently over the past several months without having to say “no” to my favorite foods. I have been enjoying ice cream, chips, wine, bread, butter, chocolate cake, and more (in moderation of course).

But the Reformed Health website is not about me as much as it is about YOU — my reader. So I have created a super short survey so you can share your experiences with weight loss and dieting with me.

If you fit into any of the following categories, the survey is for you.

  1. If you are thinking about losing weight
  2. Have ever thought of losing weight
  3. Are trying to lose weight
  4. Are in the process of losing weight
  5. Or are struggling to lose weight

If you fit into any of the above five categories, you are not alone. Most everyone has been on a weight loss journey sometime in their lives. Personally, I have been at each stage at one time or another. But with my new diet (which is really an anti-diet) — I am no longer struggling to lose weight. In fact, I am enjoying the process completely. And I think you can too.

But before I can help you (and others),  I need to know exactly what makes you tick. What are your goals? What motivates you? That way I can make sure that when my book comes out I am not just telling my story — but I am helping you with your story. Helping you (and others like you) achieve the success that you desire in weight loss.

So I have a few questions — 10 to be exact. And all are multiple choice (but one) so it should be a breeze. And the results are anonymous so don’t worry anyone reading your answers — because no-one (not even me) will know who is answering.

But, you will be helping me out tremendously.

You can access the survey here or by clicking on the image below.

Thanks so much!

Mischelle

September Weight Loss Journal with Commentary (down 37.4 pounds total)

September Weight Loss ChartAt first glance, my weight loss chart for September is deceptive, so I added a red line to show the downward slope.

And I have no Twitter posts to share (except one) because my new job takes a chunk of my day away from writing, and I have opted out of tweeting.

Tummy Troubles.

On September 2 my weight dropped down to an extraordinary low. This was due to the stomach flu or possibly caffeine withdraw. Read more: Why I Had to Quit Drinking Coffee.  I was up much of the night with unpleasant symptoms of which I will spare you the details. August 2016 Weight Loss Journal

August Weight Loss Journal with Commentary (down 34.4 pounds total)

August 2016 Weight Loss JournalThis month I finally broke through the 155 mark, with the potential of getting into the 140’s. The 140’s! I can hardly believe it. I started this #weightlossjourney at 185 pounds. I wanted to be transparent about the process because I want to write a book with a step by step plan to help others do the same thing. But first I had to prove to myself that it would really work.

This is the same way I lost weight about five years earlier. The only problem is I did not include a maintenance plan into my diet. This time I will! I don’t ever want to be 185 pounds again.

The unique approach I took to lose weight — is to Continue reading “August Weight Loss Journal with Commentary (down 34.4 pounds total)”

June Weight Loss Journal with Commentary (down 28 pounds total)

Surviving the move was pretty tough on my eating schedule too. When all your pots and pans are packed up and you’re packing/cleaning from dusk to dawn — it is hard to resist those biscuits at Cracker Barrel. But I did resist the Ice Cream Berry Cobbler (mostly because I didn’t enjoy it much after a couple bites).

February Weight Journal w/Commentary (Down 12.4 Pounds Total)

When my daughter came for a visit around her birthday, I made an amazing Chocolate Beet Cake. I will be putting that recipe up soon. It is not low fat or low calorie — especially with the decadent Chocolate Frosting I put on top (that recipe can be found here). But I ate as much as I wanted. We also went out to pizza and enjoyed other nice meals together. I ate all these foods without “going off” my diet. Yes, I had to account for what I ate. But I didn’t feel guilty. I didn’t feel like I was cheating. I was just enjoying my family with good food.

January Weight Journal w/ Commentary (Down 11 Pounds)

I am not one to make New Year’s resolutions — but sometimes the job still needs to get done. When I weighed myself at the beginning of the year and saw a whopping 185 pounds on the scale — I knew it was time to make some changes. There is only one method of dieting that works for me: energy in must be less than energy out. On the other hand, I know this is a recipe for disaster if I can’t eat and enjoy all the foods I love.

Delighted by Living From The Garden

vegetable-basket-349667_1920Have you ever considered the variety of foods that grow from the earth’s bountiful garden — all the foods that God has given us to enjoy? My heart sings over an avocado — with its creamy goodness. And my tastebuds rejoice when I bite into the tangy yellow flesh of a mango. I am even delighted by the sweet sting of a jalapeño pepper on my tongue. Of course, I must not forget garlic, with its undeniable beauty on the palette. And  a basil leaf picked straight off the stem — what a refreshingly pungent herb that adds life to many dishes. And let us also remember the queen of all the fragrant edibles: Continue reading “Delighted by Living From The Garden”
