How God Turned This Wretch into a Treasure: part one

My parents brought me into the world shortly after the “sexual revolution.” And they were very much a part of the culture, drinking lots of alcohol and popping bennies — the amphetamines of the day. In that epoch, it wasn’t unpopular for pregnant women to drink alcohol, so I was dosed on wine from the womb.

But something happened after my fourth birthday. My parents decided to get “religion.” So they had us kids baptized in the Lutheran church. Someone at that time must have told me about Jesus, because I remember kneeling by my bed and asking Him to come into my heart.

A year later, we painted the house, packed up our belongings, and headed out of the big city of Simi Valley to small town, USA.

There we joined a little white Methodist church with a steeple bell that rang each Sunday to announce the service. When I came of age, I pulled the rope and sounded the gong myself: a great memory.

Other fond memories of that time still bring a smile to my face: great friends; fellowship; food; Sunday school; Kids of the Kingdom; vacation Bible school; ice cream socials; the invasion of box-elder bugs; and more. But something else happened in that church, something that almost destroyed me: I was raped. Continue reading “How God Turned This Wretch into a Treasure: part one”

Emmaus

21 Mile Hike Reveals Ancient Secret that Will Blow Your Mind

How far would you travel to visit a dying friend? I’ll bet you’d be willing to travel to the other side of the globe, so long as you could hop on an airplane to get there. But would you be willing to walk 21 miles? Keep reading to learn about two men who travelled 21 miles for a dying friend. And the secrets they discovered on their journey were mind blowing and still elude people to this day.

The Preceding Events

All Jerusalem was buzzing. Christ, the promised Messiah had been crucified. He had shown Himself to be powerful with mighty deeds of healing the sick, forgiving sins, and correcting false ideas about the Law of God. Yet the religious leaders of the day had sentenced Him to the barbarous Roman-style death of crucifixion.

The Sabbath was drawing near and it was necessary to bury Jesus quickly so as to not break the Law. A rich man provided a burial grave, and His closest friends and family laid the lifeless Messiah to rest. Though Jesus had warned His friends that these things were to happen and that He would rise again — it was too difficult for them to believe.

Did You Get The Memo?

Keep Climbing

What We’ve Been Up To.

It has been an arduous journey, but I believe we have reached the peak. Reformed Health’s new website is up and running. Hopefully it will be down hill from here. Or at least a plateau with a beautiful view. Now that we have got most of the bugs and glitches worked out, we can get back to a regular writing schedule. Our new plan is to publish one new blog post a week to complete the Biblical Health Study — which is the comprehensive philosophy of health that teaches the Biblical Principles of Wellness. We will also be sending out a weekly newsletter to subscribers. If you are not currently part of the Reformed Health community. Join Now. It’s Free and I’ll send you some FREE resources.

Be sure to check out our home page to learn more about our core values. Check it out now!

Here is some of the information we cover there:

  • The REAL reason MANY people are sick: and what you can learn from 1994 Olympic gold medalist, Oksana Baiul.
  • The big LIE faith Healers want you to believe: hint — sometimes you won’t get well.
  • The 19 + annoying health conditions (including arthritis, heart arrhythmias, fatigue, and insomnia) we have seen REVERSED in our OWN family alone.
  • Why people THINK sickness is normal: SICK IS NOT NORMAL.
  • The Simple Prayer that changed my life: the prayer was not for healing.
  • How YOU can begin your healing journey today for FREE.

Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Honey Mints

Dark Chocolate Honey Mints from Trader Joe’s (Just 3 Ingredients)

Dark Chocolate Honey Mints (Just 3 Ingredients)
Honey Mints.

It is rare that I share a product that is not organic. But Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Honey Mints get high marks on my health meter.

I recently visited a health food store that was giving away some candy. The cashier said the mints were not very good. I asked her why she didn’t like them. Her reason was because they were made of honey.

I love honey — in fact it is a God approved sweetener. So I gave the treat a try. It was delicious, reminding me of a Peppermint Patty. Unfortunately, I did not learn the brand of the candy, nor was the store going carry them. But when I learned that Trader Joe’s was carrying Dark Chocolate Honey Mints with “Just Three Ingredients,” I had to give them a try — even though they were not organic.

One bite reminded me of Continue reading “Dark Chocolate Honey Mints from Trader Joe’s (Just 3 Ingredients)”

Thank You Card

The Top Two Reasons You Want to Lose Weight (Survey Results)

Thank You Card

Thank You!

I recently shared a request for feedback concerning my upcoming weight loss and diet book. You can read the post here: Will You Please Help Me Out With A Short Survey?

I am so grateful and amazed by all the thoughtful responses I received. It has helped me out so much. I know now that I must add several chapters to address all the information that is important to my readers. If you have not had a chance to share what is important to you, the survey is still open. I welcome as many responses as possible. Take Survey Now!

The one thing that surprised me the most (though I don’t know why) was the number one reason my readers (and those who responded) want to lose weight.

I was sure the top motivator for weight loss was to feel more attractive. I couldn’t have been more wrong (though it did rank #3).

I was also surprised by the number two reason you all are motivated to lose weight.

Weight Loss Motivators.

There were 7 possible answers for the question: “What are your primary motivators to lose weight (check all that apply)?” Here is how YOU ranked them.  Continue reading “The Top Two Reasons You Want to Lose Weight (Survey Results)”

Would You Please Help Me with A Short Survey?

Will You Please Help Me Out with a Short Survey?

Would You Please Help Me with A Short Survey?Hello,

I am so excited about my weight loss progress. I have almost reached my goal of 145 pounds. And I haven’t seen those numbers in about 15 years.

Everyone is noticing the difference and asking me what I have been doing. But more importantly — I notice the difference. I can fit into my favorite clothes again. I feel more attractive. And I have more energy. And I am excited to share the exact process that I have used to lose weight consistently over the past several months without having to say “no” to my favorite foods. I have been enjoying ice cream, chips, wine, bread, butter, chocolate cake, and more (in moderation of course).

But the Reformed Health website is not about me as much as it is about YOU — my reader. So I have created a super short survey so you can share your experiences with weight loss and dieting with me.

If you fit into any of the following categories, the survey is for you.

  1. If you are thinking about losing weight
  2. Have ever thought of losing weight
  3. Are trying to lose weight
  4. Are in the process of losing weight
  5. Or are struggling to lose weight

If you fit into any of the above five categories, you are not alone. Most everyone has been on a weight loss journey sometime in their lives. Personally, I have been at each stage at one time or another. But with my new diet (which is really an anti-diet) — I am no longer struggling to lose weight. In fact, I am enjoying the process completely. And I think you can too.

But before I can help you (and others),  I need to know exactly what makes you tick. What are your goals? What motivates you? That way I can make sure that when my book comes out I am not just telling my story — but I am helping you with your story. Helping you (and others like you) achieve the success that you desire in weight loss.

So I have a few questions — 10 to be exact. And all are multiple choice (but one) so it should be a breeze. And the results are anonymous so don’t worry anyone reading your answers — because no-one (not even me) will know who is answering.

But, you will be helping me out tremendously.

You can access the survey here or by clicking on the image below.

Thanks so much!

Mischelle
