Reason #3: Poor Health Can Hinder or Eliminate Ministry

Poor Health Can Hinder or Eliminate Ministry

While Christ Jesus was on earth, He gave us the ultimate example of a servant. Matthew 20:28 tells us that the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve. He demonstrated His service to mankind in many ways, including the ultimate service of giving His own life. Is this what God requires of us? Reason #2: God’s Word Talks About Health

Why you should study health from a biblical perspective?

When God Talks, Everyone Should Listen

As children of God, we need to know what God says about health simply because the Bible talks about it. II Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” If all Scripture is profitable, and if the Bible discusses health and nutrition, it too must be profitable to study and apply.

Today, with the rising incidents of disease and illness in the church, the need has never been greater to seek and share the timely topic of health from a Christian and biblical worldview.

Paul boasted in Act 20:27 that he did not shrink back from declaring the whole counsel of God, and we have no lesser responsibility. All Scripture is profitable. How can we teach the whole counsel of God if we neglect to seek God’s counsel on health?

The Bible talks about health, therefore we have the responsibility to seek, know, apply, and share this information with others. And inasmuch as we have the power to remain healthy and be good stewards of the temples that God has given us, we should strive for excellence.

The next post will discuss how our health can affect our ministry and service to God, our creator.
