This month I finally broke through the 155 mark, with the potential of getting into the 140’s. The 140’s! I can hardly believe it. I started this #weightlossjourney at 185 pounds. I wanted to be transparent about the process because I want to write a book with a step by step plan to help others do the same thing. But first I had to prove to myself that it would really work.
This is the same way I lost weight about five years earlier. The only problem is I did not include a maintenance plan into my diet. This time I will! I don’t ever want to be 185 pounds again.
The unique approach I took to lose weight — is to be able to eat all the foods I love. Some diets say: don’t even have a bite of ice-cream or chocolate cake or whatever. I have lost my weight by including all these things into my diet. In fact, to do otherwise would set me up for disaster. I love chocolate cake, ice-cream, and chips. If they are forbidden and I fail — my tendency is to binge. Why not just eat a little in moderation? Or if I eat a little extra — account for it elsewhere?

I have been through vacations, family visits, potlucks, birthdays, holidays, and many other temptations that we all face regularly. But I have continued to lose. Not quickly. But continually. And the beautiful thing — I have not felt like I was dieting. In fact, I have been enjoying all the foods I eat, which almost makes it feel like the opposite of a diet. Everything that enters my mouth is my choice, and I choose to eat only the foods that I love. Thankfully, I love to eat healthy foods too! If not, this diet may have helped me lose weight, but I’d be feeling terrible.
Education is the key. Be looking for my book to come out in the next couple of months, Lord willing. The time is perfect because we are just now taking about healthy blood through moderate eating in our Biblical Health Study. Truly this is God’s plan for weight loss and maintenance. I did not invent it.
