You must be careful with Amazing Grass Superfood products because many products contain potentially harmful ingredients.  However, in this unbiased Amazing Grass Green Superfood review, I will share which Amazing Grass products gets my (almost) full support.  I reveal all below.

Amazing Grass Green Superfood Review

 

My First Experience with Amazing Grass Superfood

I first tried The Original Amazing Grass Green Superfood when I saw a large container at Costco for an excellent price. Plus, it came with a handy dandy shaker cup (which I still use today).

Ordinarily, I am extremely hesitant to try any kind of green superfood.

Why?

Because I am not a fan of yucky drinks. 

Amazing Grass Green Superfood was a big disappointment in this area — because it actually had a pleasant flavor. I was completely surprised. Even though the flavor was not chocolate, it reminded me of chocolate. And there were no harmful ingredients listed on the package. 

After this first encounter, I got real excited because Ibotta had a $5.00 rebate that I could use at Costco. I took advantage of the rebate several times, stocking up on Amazing Grass Green Superfood.

Another thing that I really liked about the superfood was that it was a whole food product — which is the standard I try to accommodate when taking supplements of any kind.

Unfortunately, Costco stopped carrying the large jars of The Original Amazing Grass Superfood. So now my review will turn to my experiences outside of Costco.

Amazing Grass at the Health Food Store

EarthFare is my favorite health food store (next to Trader Joe’s). So I started looking for Amazing Grass there instead of at Costco. They had a much greater selection of flavors, including: 

And more. 

However, I found two major problems. 

First, the price was very expensive. Second, most of the other flavors had ingredients that were on my “do not eat” list. 

For example, the Antioxidant blend contains Natural Flavors and Citric Acid. Natural flavors can be a code name for MSG (or some ingredient that is high in MSG, but not labeled as such). Citric acid can be derived from unnatural sources and is not a whole food product. 

The chocolate flavor contains “natural chocolate flavor” — another product that is not “whole food.”

Energy Amazing Grass contains caffeine (though naturally occurring). I must limit the amount of caffeine I consume to one cup of coffee in the morning. Plus, it too contains Natural Flavors and Citric Acid. 

Which Types of Amazing Grass Do I Like?

In theory, I like Amazing Grass products because they are whole food supplements. However, due to harmful ingredients (IMO), I have yet only found two Amazing Grass products that I can recommend. 

My favorite is The Original Amazing Grass Green Superfood which boasts that one scoop contains 2 full servings of fruit and veggies. Plus, it provides: 

  • 1,250 IU of vitamin A
  • 34 mg of Vitamin C
  • 70 mcg of Vitamin K
  • 175 mg of Potassium 
  • 52 mg of Calcium

And a whole lot more. 

But I will also review Amazing Grass Superfood Alkalize and Detox because I could find no harmful additives. Though, I’ve never tried it, I can recommend it. 

The Amazing Grass Superfood Alkalize and Detox contains a host of detoxifying ingredients like beets, turmeric, cayenne, and more. Plus, each scoop boasts:

  • 6,396 IU of vitamin A
  • 45 mg of Vitamin C
  • 497 mcg of Vitamin K
  • 1,489 mg of Potassium 
  • 1,147 mg of Calcium

These numbers are much higher than The Original version. 

Final Review of Amazing Grass Green Superfood

A few final notes concerning Amazing Grass products. Most of the ingredients in the superfood is organic, but not 100%. My preference would be that the products were 100% organic. However, I still take The Original when I need a boost. And I may also consider the Alkalize and Detox in the future. 

Whenever I write reviews on products I learn something new. Today I learned that there was another Amazing Grass product that I could try in the future. And it actually seems like it would be a good choice since it has higher levels of some of the nutrients that I find hard to incorporate into my diet (like calcium). 

Just be sure to check the labels before you buy. Companies often change their formulas without notifying me.

Your local health food store should carry Amazing Grass Superfood Original. Otherwise, you can find many selections at Amazon.
