How to Legally Escape the Health Insurance Trap

Copy of Metaphor_ Breath-4When health insurance became a federal mandate punishable by steep fines, I felt cheated.

We didn’t have health insurance — and we didn’t want it. For the government to force us to pay for something that we would not use, to us was a form of stealing. God has designed charity to be volitional, not forced. No one has the right to use our money to pay for someone else’s healthcare — healthcare that could actually be causing death and illness.

Do you think I am being a little harsh in my assessment? Consider these statistics:

  1. Preventable medical errors are the 3rd highest cause of deaths in the US (not including abortion) [1]
  2. 400,000 premature deaths and injuries a year are caused by medical errors [2]
  3. A person is 85% more likely to be infected with MRSA in a healthcare facility than at a non-healthcare facility [3]
  4. $3,415,710,944.32 has been awarded this year alone for vaccine related injuries that the GOVERNMENT pays so the pharmaceutical companies don’t have to be responsible. [4]

I am not making up these figures. Check the facts yourself. And these are only four reasons not to trust the medical establishment with your healthcare — there are more.

Why would I want to feed my money into this industry of death? More important, why would I want to subject myself to this false system of “healthcare.” It is not healthcare, but rather a money making scheme at best and death-care at worst.

Don’t get me wrong. I know there are some good doctors and nurses out there who are trying to make a difference in people’s lives. Some have turned over to natural health like Dr. Mercola and Dr. Josh Axe. Others, unfortunately, are deceived. The healthcare industry in many cases has become nothing more than a legal drug dispensary.

I would rather put my health in my own hands by applying the Biblical Principles of Wellness so I can be all that God has designed me to be.  After all, He does claim to be the Lord, my Healer. I believe Him.

Thankfully I (legally) found another way to avoid the fines of the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) without purchasing health insurance.

I still don’t like writing the $90 check each month that keeps my husband and I legal — but at least I know the money is going to help others who need it. And should the need arise, we too will have our medical expenses covered.

So what is this alternative to the Affordable Care Act?

Christian Healthcare Ministries has three membership levels that you can join:

  • Gold — each member pays $150.00 per month
  • Silver — each member pays $85.00 per month
  • Bronze — each member pays $45.00 per month

Since we rarely use the medical establishment, we chose the Bronze level. For two of us, we pay $90.00 a month. That comes with a $5000 deductible. We could up that to Gold and have a $500 deductible.

I still do not like paying the $90.00 each month, but I know it is going to help others take control over their own healthcare. And it breaks Christians away from the system of the world, giving better options. I like that.
